# ToUnixEpoc (Date dateTime)

| Purpose     | To get a Unix Epoch value for the specified date time object.                          |
| Description | Returns a long integer representing Unix Epoch value                                   |

| Parameter   | dateTime \[System.DateTime] – Date time object for which Epoch value will be returned. |

**Example**

In this example, we will pass a valid date time value to the function transformation object using a *Variables* object.

Where,

*dateTime* ­= 03/11/2009 10:20:40 AM
