# Quarter (DateTime)

| Purpose     | To return the calendar quarter of a provided date time value.             |
| Description | Returns calendar quarter for the specified date time value.               |
| Return Type | Int32                                                                     |
| Parameter   | dateTime \[System.DateTime] – Date for which the quarter will be returned |

**Example**

In this example, we will pass a date time value to the function transformation object using a *Variables* object.

Where,

*dateTime* = 08/15/2020
