# Second (DateTime)

| Purpose     | To return the second part of the specified date time value.                                     |
| Description | Returns a value between 0 and 59 representing the second part of the specified date time value. |

| Parameter   | dateTime \[System.DateTime] – Date for which the second will be returned                        |

**Example**

In this example, we will pass a date time value to the function transformation object using a *Variables* object.

Where,

*dateTime* = 11/12/2013 2:20:15 PM
