# ToTicks (Date dateTime)

| Purpose     | To return an integer representing ticks for the specified date time value. |
| Description | Gets the number of ticks in the specified date time value.                 |

| Parameter   | dateTime \[Syste.DateTime] – Date for which local ticks will be returned   |

**Example**

In this example, we will pass a valid date time value to the function transformation object using a *Variables* object.

Where,

*dateTime* ­= 09/10/2020 10:10:25 AM
